Finding: Geo MC C1 10% Crit rate buff becomes active after stone wall is created and does not affect the burst itself upon activation
Evidence:
https://youtu.be/DBMJEKuABes
Video shows geo MC with c6 and >90% crit rate not critting on 3rd hit of his Q.
If the crit bonus applied to burst damage, it would be impossible to not crit.
Significance:
- Geo MC's burst does not apply C1 buff to its own damage (unless a ring from previous burst still exists)
- With C6 the duration of ring is 20s (with 15s cooldown), so it should be possible to maintain the buff on subsequent burst activations. However, as proven, the first elemental burst used will remain unaffected by C1 crit rate buff.(edited)

geo mc c1 crit rate test
geo mc c1 crit rate bonus does not apply to Q that triggers it

this is the case because the crit buff is not applied until the geo constructs are formed, you should still be dynamically buffed by other sources
its a matter of the buff not existing until the rocks are up, not that the Q snapshots
if possible could you maybe verify whether or not other buffs are able to be applied while the Q is dealing damage?
VheraxMay 20, 2021 9:52 PM
you're right, this doesn't prove the ult snapshots, so this conclusion is wrong indeed
VheraxMay 20, 2021 10:06 PM
however, the point of submission was to test if there is any hidden effect that would also make the Q damage benefit from the buff without previous wall still existing
and I believe there is enough evidence for that
yes, I can test that
any suggestions what buffs could be easy to test?
Bennett's Q?
FluffyMay 20, 2021 10:07 PM
if you have access to coop, throwing on bennett while Q is being cast is easy
if you dont, waiting for bennett Q to fade when you cast Q works also
VheraxMay 20, 2021 10:07 PM
was considering dashing into bennett's Q, not sure if that would be fast enough tho

note that bennett buff circle is deceptive, it lingers a bit

well, all the hits happen within 1-1.5s of activation - how do you prove that you gained/lost buff between activation and actual damage happening?
(also, considering how quick the hits happen after activation, I don't see much value testing whether this ability snapshots)(edited)
