Theory: In a high ping environment, it is possible to lose Traveler's sword and go weaponless. Being a gigachad that he is, Aether can abandon the dull blade at will and fist everybody on his way.
Evidence that it can happen:
Significance: It is very possible that other characters can lose their weapons. At the very least, Anemo Aether can lose it. And he can fist you.
Further information:
The weapon returns to the character if you enter a domain. Teleporting does not return the weapon, nor does casting an Elemental Skill or Burst.

The initial instance that I triggered this event was on Dragonspine, high ping, possibly affected by cryo, fighting multiple enemies including a Frostarm Lawachurl
Losing the weapon is only visual in nature.

if it's patched and the orange people can't recreate to verify, that means the ticket is dead

It seems like it was patched in November, so should be good to go then

I have screenshots from January of losing fischl's weapon to ping (and/or my phone struggling with genshin) but I dont remember how it happened and didn't test things with it so it's probably not a contribution

I'm unsure if this will contribute anything, but if it helps, here you go :
A few months back, while I was doing Tsurumi quest, and went into a story quest accidentally while in aim mode,
after I came out, when in normal stance, the glow remained on the hand.
Im unsure if this is just a fischl thing, or it has been patched, but I tried with gorou a few moments ago and it didn't work.
its not like the images above, but instead (kinda) the opposite where the glow from charging still remained.
unsure what this will contribute, but i hope it helps something
