We, uh, don't have a process to update the Jean Mains "theorycrafting library" anymore. It was a google doc that Doug and Cola seems to have access to, but KQM doesn't use google docs for libraries anymore it seems.
Finding by AlmostSerious#5533. This is not my finding.

Finding:
Jean's burst can trigger the orb during the weekly Raiden Shogun boss fight by expiring on top of it.

Tested with a C1 Jean.

Significance:
This makes it far easier for Jean to avoid Raiden's one-shot mechanic on her own and can help players, who want to fight Raiden with solo Jean.
The way I think it works is that Jean's burst can be cast before the Final Calamity starts, which drains all party member's Energy. Jean's burst duration is about 12 seconds, and when it expires it triggers one instance of dandelion breeze exit damage. That exit damage
1. applies an anemo elemental attack
2. the anemo damage swirls with the Flowers of Remembrance (orb) to apply electro elemental attack
Together, they are sufficient to charge the special sheild and avoid getting marked with Eye of Stormy Judgement.

But I can't find any library discussion around minimum amounts of electro elemental attacks needed to charge the shield or "which characters can solo charge the shield"

What is fascinating is that Jean's skill also applies an anemo elemental attack, and thus is should also swirl with the orb and apply an electro attack, but is not sufficient to charge the orb.
Does Jean's burst exit damage apply a different amount of GU compared to skill, which explains the difference in being able to charge the shield or not?
And, could this finding imply other anemo characters that have bursts with duration mechanics (cast before The Final Calamity starts) also charge the shield solo?

no, both are 2GU
this is so weird :thonk2:
GU doesnt even matter for charging the ball, it just fills by 26% when hit by an elemental attack with a 0.5s cooldown, even 0GU attacks work
the anemo damage swirls with the Flowers of Remembrance (orb) to apply electro elemental attack
this shouldnt be possible, because the orb does not have electro on it at all
the way i understand this is, when raiden does this attack, she is actually still there in front of you, just invisible, and when jean's Q ends, it is somehow able to hit the invisible boss and creates an electro swirl off of the shield

a way to verify this theory is by letting her do this attack when her shield has just run out, and see if it still swirls electro
this is hard in singleplayer but should be achievable with coop sunfire or coop c6 bennett

That sounds reasonable. The following few frames would make a lot more sense with this theory.
You can see that the Swirl happens slightly in front of the orb and reduces Raiden's armor.

I'm currently running my Anemo characters through it.
Can post videos once I'm done.
So far Kazuha and Venti aren't able to do it. Venti neither with his E nor Q (Q still manages to trigger the shield, but only because of the many Anemo hits) and Kazuha not with his E. Can't comment on his Q, since casting it prematurely (before the massive energy drain occurs) will let it absorb Electro from Raiden, who is still on the field at this point.

Looks like it.
Jean E and Sayu E+Q also negative (Sayu Q able to trigger shield, but like Venti only because of the number of hits).
Heizou, Sucrose and AMC have to wait until tomorrow. I'm not able to test for Xiao.
I didn't manage to cause a Swirl with the other 3 either.
Tested Heizou AA+E, Sucrose AA+E+Q and AMC E.
Unfortunately I don't have the necessary ER pieces to try Heizou Q after the big energy drain (same with Jean and casting her Q after the orb appears).
As for AMC's Q, if somebody with less skill issues wants to try it, be my guest. I can't manage to get the placement right with Zhongli's pillar.
I'll upload the finished videos tomorrow.

Unfortunately not. Looks like Jean's burst is special because it somehow manages to Swirl the invisible Raiden boss in front of the orb.
I have yet to achieve that with any other Anemo ability.

No, but you only need one Electro application to fill the orb completely, which the Electro Swirl provides.

Looks like I just barely managed to be in range during the first clip :monkaS:

It just aligned with the natural shield decay. If you go through it frame by frame you'll see that the Swirl removes the same small amount. Then a few frames later the natural decay kicks in and removes a big chunk.

Thanks for testing Xiao.
I uploaded my last few videos as well. So far nothing but Jean's Burst on exit managed to Swirl invisible Raiden.
The 3 things I wasn't able to test are:
1. Heizou's Burst (needs to be cast after the major energy drain -> requires high ER build to recharge his burst with 1-2 skills before Raiden disappears)
2. Jean's Burst on cast (same as Heizou, but even worse because of the higher energy cost)
3. AMC's Burst (same as before or you cast it before the drain and make it stay in place with a Geo construct, but I can't manage to do that)
Not sure if anybody else wants to test these last few things or if we call it a day here.
Also is it enough to just document this weird interaction/bug? Because I'm not sure how much deeper I want to dig what exactly causes it (or rather I have no idea how I'd even go about it).

It just sounds like they needed to code the not a target while Raiden invisible, and they missed the jean burst exit dmg proc code
Possibly because the trigger is duration expiration and the condition is physical presence
I think we can just compile our evidence and just submit the ticket then?
