Theory/Finding/Bug: Turning while swimming drains extra stamina, so swimming in straight lines should be done whenever possible
Evidence: Found that if you mash A and D to rapidly move side to side it drains your stamina very quickly, so consequently turning must use up extra stamina in comparison to moving in a straight line when swimming (the drain is actually extremely fast and could be even faster if you macro'd the little wiggle I did in the water, real wild)

Significance: Swim in straight lines for maximum distance (or speedrun drowning if that's your goal)
